"How long left do I have to live?"🕰 Looking after #cancer patients gives you a different perspective on time. One day, you have all the time in the world. The next, you have inoperable cancer and only a year left to live.Being in an environment that makes you acutely aware of your own mortality brings into 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐩 𝐟𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬 how precious time is. And how we often take it for granted. As I bring my grumpy teething baby out for a walk yesterday, I muse over how I am spending my own time.🤹♂️ Juggling between a full time #NHS clinical job, professional exams, being a dad/husband and running Adopt-A-Doc can be very tricky sometimes, but yet I feel satisfied with the work that I am doing. Why?Because there is a 𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞 behind it all. The work is hard, the exams are tough, the baby is biting off my fingers with his 2 teeth - but I never doubted for a moment how worthwhile this line of work is.💕 I believe that we have been put here 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐨 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧 and spend our precious time with the people who love us. 𝐖𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞 with the time that we have been given. That is my reflections for the end of this week. What are your thoughts about time and #purpose? #doctor #oncology #reflections #death

“You have a 15% chance of living 5 years.”That’s what the doctors told my dad when he was first diagnosed with cancer. He didn’t make it five years. Facing the uncomfortable truth of death can transform your perspective on life. Consider the impact of limited time, and ask yourself:How would you spend your last 24 hours? When you realize the things you'd miss and the experiences you haven't had, it ignites a fire within you to live deliberately and pursue your dreams. Death should motivate you to make the most of your time and leave a meaningful legacy. Define your purpose and embrace the idea that being here and fully experiencing life is your purpose. The odds of you being born are less than 1 in 400 trillion. Appreciate the breaths you take as your body fights to keep you alive. Start living intentionally and make the most of this incredible opportunity. How are you going to make the most of today?

Facing brain cancer brought an unexpected lesson into my life: the power of trusting myself. This journey taught me to doubt less and believe more in my capabilities. It’s in this trust that the life I envisioned began to take shape. We often hold back, shadowed by self-doubt. But when we start to trust in our own strength and intuition, that’s when we truly start to flourish. This isn’t just about overcoming a health challenge; it’s about rewriting the narrative of our lives.Let’s ask ourselves: Where can less doubt and more trust lead us? What can we create when we believe in our potential to shape our future? 💙Power-Up#SelfTrust #OvercomingChallenges #PersonalGrowth #JasonTharp

"Yes. It is #Cancer!"Receiving such news is never easy. Anything to do with personal #health is not.Surprisingly, cancer is not the world's #1 killer. Heart disease is. Lung cancer is #5.How does one deal with such a report?I can only speak for myself.🎯 Mind over Matter. Do not despair, panic & over think. It does not make the cancer go away, 🎯 Professional Opinion. Seek 2nd & third opinions before making the final decision,🎯 Discuss Options. Have a talk with your spouse/partner or a level headed person. Too many opinions will cloud your final decision, 🎯 Surgery. As recommended by your physician, do it. Do not delay, 🎯 Finance. If you have insurance, well & good. If not, head for a government hospital. Believe me, they do know what they are doing, 🎯 Post Surgery. Follow the advice of the appointed Oncologist. As I could not handle the medicines given, I opted for #holistic care, 🎯 Recovery. Take a looong vacation. Eat clean. Sleep as many hours as you can & frequently. Go live your life like it is your last day. Not that it is, 🎯 Last BUT not the very least. Pray. Meditate. Sing to your heart's content. Laugh loudly. What you have been putting off, do it now. Love yourself!Know anyone with cancer?#peopleplaces #bekind #beconnected #LinkedIn #cynfultales

#Perspective changes occur in #life. They are a common reaction to having had cancer, taken on unasked for life altering challenges, and all ways our lack of perceived control becomes evident. This leads to a reassessing of priorities. That includes a realization of what was/is important in life and opens up the ability to make changes to improve in a multitude of ways. Sometimes it’s too late, but a new understanding of life still kicks in. The gift, or silver lining of a terrible situation is the life lesson that we ascertain from what we were forced to take on. If we implement this into our life going forward, it allows us to take a terrible situation and prosper from “the bad” in a variety of different fashions.Sometimes our lives have to be completely shaken up, changed, and rearranged to relocate us to the place we are meant to be. When this #gift occurs, own it! It’s yours! It will often lead to a newfound appreciation that was never embraced before. ....#startingatthefinishline #cancersurvivor #bestsellingauthor #keynotespeaker #motivationalspeaker #inspirationalspeaker #cancersucks #financialadvisors #cancerwarrior #aa3 #ownit #cancerlessons #cancerfamily #astrocytoma #warrior #warriorfamily #fcancer #beastmode #fcancer #astrocytoma #cancerwarrior #mytime
